CDTECH and Snamprogetti have developed a low cost option to convert existing MTBE units to produce Isooctane/Isooctene. Several existing commercial units have used this technology for successful demonstration runs and are expected to switch to Isooctene/ Isooctane production as MTBE phaseout is implemented in the US.
